For the Beef Patty

For the Burger Assembly

Method

Preparing the Beef Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until everything is evenly incorporated, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent bulging during cooking.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the burger reaches your desired doneness.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster, if desired.

  2. 6

    Build Your Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese. Add a slice of tomato, pickles, ketchup, and mustard to taste. Top with the other half of the bun.
