Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cheese Curds

Start by rinsing the fresh cheese curds under cold water to remove any excess whey. Pat them dry with a paper towel and set aside.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In three separate shallow dishes, place the flour in the first dish, beat the eggs in the second dish, and combine the breadcrumbs, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder in the third dish.

Breading and Frying

  1. 3

    Bread the Cheese Curds

Take each cheese curd and first coat it in the flour, shaking off any excess. Next, dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off, and finally coat it with the breadcrumb mixture. Repeat until all cheese curds are breaded.

  2. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large, deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  3. 5

    Fry the Cheese Curds

Carefully add the breaded cheese curds to the hot oil in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown, turning them occasionally for even cooking.

  4. 6

    Drain and Serve

Once golden brown, remove the cheese curds from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve immediately while hot.
