Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

    Bake the Brie

Place the Brie cheese on a baking dish and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until it is soft and gooey.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Walnuts

In a skillet, combine the chopped walnuts, olive oil, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper. Toast over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes until the walnuts are fragrant and the sugar has caramelized slightly.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Bread

While the Brie is baking, slice the French bread or baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices. Grill or toast the slices until golden brown.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Dish

Once the Brie is baked, remove it from the oven. Top it with fig preserves and the spiced walnuts. Garnish with fresh thyme leaves.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve warm with the grilled bread slices for dipping.
