Fried Oysters

Hand-Cut Fries

Method

Fried Oysters

  1. 1

    Prepare the Breading

In a shallow dish, combine flour, cornmeal, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, whisk together eggs and milk.

  2. 2

    Bread the Oysters

Dip each oyster into the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off, then coat in the flour mixture.

  3. 3

    Fry the Oysters

In a deep skillet or fryer, heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry oysters in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.

Hand-Cut Fries

  1. 4

    Cut the Potatoes

Wash and cut potatoes into thick strips.

  2. 5

    Fry the Fries

In a separate fryer or pot, heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry potato strips in batches until crispy and golden, about 5-7 minutes. Drain on paper towels and season with salt.

Coleslaw

  1. 6

    Mix the Coleslaw

In a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage and carrots. In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Pour dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss to combine.
