Fried Cajun Catfish
Method
Fried Cajun Catfish
- 1
Marinate the Catfish
In a bowl, soak the catfish fillets in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes to tenderize the fish and add flavor.
- 2
Prepare the Coating
In a shallow dish, mix the all-purpose flour and Cajun seasoning until well combined.
- 3
Coat the Catfish
Remove the catfish from the buttermilk and allow excess to drip off. Dredge each fillet in the seasoned flour, ensuring an even coating.
- 4
Fry the Catfish
In a large skillet, heat the cooking oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the coated catfish fillets. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
