Method
Steaming the Lobster
- 1
Prepare the Pot
In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a rapid boil. Add 2 tablespoons of sea salt to the boiling water.
- 2
Add the Lobster
Carefully place the live lobsters into the pot, headfirst, to ensure a humane cooking process.
- 3
Steam the Lobster
Cover the pot with a lid and steam the lobsters for about 8-10 minutes, or until the shells turn bright red and the meat is opaque.
- 4
Remove from Heat
Once cooked, carefully remove the lobsters from the pot using tongs and place them on a serving platter.
Preparing the Drawn Butter
- 5
Melt the Butter
In a small saucepan over low heat, melt 1 cup of unsalted butter until fully liquid.
- 6
Serve
Pour the melted butter into a small bowl for dipping alongside the steamed lobsters.
