Method

Prepare the Lobster

  1. 1

    Select Fresh Lobster

Choose 2 live hard-shell lobsters that are heavy for their size, indicating freshness.

  2. 2

    Rinse Lobsters

Rinse the lobsters under cold water to remove any debris or sand.

Cook the Lobster

  1. 3

    Boil Water

Fill a large pot with enough water to cover the lobsters completely. Add 1 teaspoon of sea salt and bring the water to a rolling boil.

  2. 4

    Steam the Lobster

Once the water is boiling, carefully place the lobsters into a steamer basket above the boiling water. Cover the pot and steam the lobsters for 8-10 minutes per pound.

Prepare the Drawn Butter

  1. 5

    Melt Butter

In a small saucepan, melt 1 cup of unsalted butter over low heat until it is fully liquefied. Do not let it brown.

Cook the Corn

  1. 6

    Boil Corn

In another pot, bring water to a boil and add the 2 ears of fresh corn on the cob. Boil for about 5-7 minutes until tender.

Serve the Dish

  1. 7

    Plate the Lobster and Corn

Once the lobsters are bright red and cooked through, remove them from the steamer and place them on a serving platter alongside the boiled corn.

  2. 8

    Serve with Butter and Lemon

Serve the lobster with melted drawn butter in small bowls and wedges of fresh lemon for squeezing on top. Optionally, sprinkle with Old Bay seasoning to taste.
