Method

Preparation of Seafood

  1. 1

    Prepare White Fish

Cut the white fish into small bite-sized cubes, about 1-2 cm in size.

  2. 2

    Prepare Shrimp

If not already done, peel and devein the shrimp, then cut them into halves or leave whole depending on size.

  3. 3

    Prepare Calamari

Rinse the calamari rings under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel.

Marinade Preparation

  1. 4

    Mix Marinade

In a large bowl, combine the fresh lime juice, chopped cilantro, and sliced red onion.

  2. 5

    Add Seasonings

Add the finely chopped jalapeño, salt, and black pepper to the bowl. Stir well to combine.

Combine Seafood with Marinade

  1. 6

    Combine Seafood with Marinade

Add the prepared white fish, shrimp, and calamari to the marinade. Gently toss to ensure all seafood is well coated with the marinade.

  2. 7

    Chill

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the seafood to 'cook' in the lime juice.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve

Once the ceviche has marinated, serve it in chilled bowls with a side of plantain chips for crunchy contrast.
