Lobster Preparation

Method

Lobster Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil the Lobster

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add 2 tablespoons of salt to the boiling water. Carefully place the live lobsters into the pot, cover, and cook for 8-10 minutes until the shells turn bright red. Remove the lobsters and let them cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Remove the Meat

Once the lobsters are cool enough to handle, remove the meat from the tails and claws. Cut the tail meat into large chunks and set aside. Crack the claws to extract the meat.

Cooking the Lobster

  1. 3

    Sauté the Garlic

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Add 4 minced garlic cloves and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.

  2. 4

    Add the Lobster

Add the lobster meat to the skillet. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of fresh thyme leaves, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of paprika. Toss to coat the lobster evenly with the garlic and spices.

  3. 5

    Finish Cooking

Cook the lobster for an additional 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through and slightly golden.

  4. 6

    Add Lemon Juice

Remove the skillet from heat and drizzle 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice over the lobster. Toss to combine.

Serving

  1. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Plate the pan-roasted lobster and garnish with 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley and lemon wedges. Serve immediately.
