Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

In a large pot of boiling salted water, add the shell pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Cheese Sauce Preparation

  1. 2

    Make the Roux

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Once melted, whisk in 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour, stirring constantly for about 1-2 minutes until the mixture is bubbly and golden.

  2. 3

    Add Milk and Cream

Slowly pour in 2 cups of milk and 1 cup of heavy cream, whisking continuously to prevent lumps. Cook until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 4

    Add Cheese

Remove from heat and stir in 2 cups of shredded sharp cheddar cheese and 1 cup of shredded Gruyère cheese until melted and smooth.

  4. 5

    Season the Sauce

Add 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of paprika, and 0.5 teaspoons of garlic powder. Mix well.

Combine Ingredients

  1. 6

    Mix Pasta and Lobster

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked shell pasta, cheese sauce, and 1 cup of chopped cooked lobster meat. Stir until everything is evenly coated.

Topping Preparation

  1. 7

    Prepare the Topping

In a small bowl, combine 1 cup of crushed Ritz crackers with 2 tablespoons of melted unsalted butter. Mix until the crumbs are well coated.

Baking

  1. 8

    Bake the Dish

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the lobster mac and cheese mixture into a greased baking dish. Evenly sprinkle the Ritz cracker topping over the mac and cheese. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.

  2. 9

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious Lobster Mac & Cheese!
