Preparing the Clams

Cleaning the Clams
Soak the littleneck clams in a bowl of cold water for about 20 minutes to help them expel any sand. Rinse thoroughly under cold running water.

Cooking the Clams
Place the cleaned clams in a large pot with about an inch of water. Cover and steam over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, or until the clams open. Discard any clams that do not open.
Making the Cocktail Sauce

Combining Ingredients
In a medium bowl, combine the ketchup, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Taste the cocktail sauce and adjust seasoning to your preference, adding more horseradish for heat or more ketchup for sweetness if desired.
