Fried Shrimp

Method

Fried Shrimp

  1. 1

    Prepare Shrimp

Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In one bowl, place the flour mixed with salt, black pepper, and paprika. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.

  3. 3

    Bread the Shrimp

Dip each shrimp into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and finally coat with cornmeal. Set aside.

  4. 4

    Heat Oil

In a large pot or deep skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry Shrimp

Carefully place the breaded shrimp in the hot oil, cooking in batches until golden brown (about 2-3 minutes per side). Remove and drain on paper towels.

Coleslaw

  1. 6

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and carrot.

  2. 7

    Prepare Dressing

In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper.

  3. 8

    Combine

Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrot mixture. Toss until well combined. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Fries

  1. 9

    Prepare Potatoes

Peel (if desired) and cut the potatoes into fry shapes.

  2. 10

    Heat Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the oil to 350°F (175°C).

  3. 11

    Fry Potatoes

Fry the potato strips in batches until golden and crispy (about 5-7 minutes). Remove and drain on paper towels, then season with salt.

Tartar Sauce

  1. 12

    Combine Ingredients

In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, chopped dill pickles, capers, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 13

    Chill

Refrigerate the tartar sauce for at least 15 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld.
