Crab Cakes

Remoulade Sauce

Method

Crab Cakes

  1. 1

    Prepare the Crab Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the jumbo lump crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, chopped green onions, and beaten egg. Mix carefully to avoid breaking the crab meat.

  2. 2

    Add Bread Crumbs and Season

Gradually fold in the bread crumbs until the mixture is cohesive. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  3. 3

    Form the Cakes

Using your hands, form the crab mixture into three equal-sized cakes, about 1 inch thick.

  4. 4

    Chill the Cakes

Place the formed crab cakes on a plate, cover with plastic wrap, and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

  5. 5

    Cook the Cakes

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the crab cakes to the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crisp.

Remoulade Sauce

  1. 6

    Prepare the Remoulade Sauce

In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, chopped capers, lemon juice, and hot sauce. Mix well until smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  2. 7

    Serve

Serve the crab cakes hot, accompanied by the remoulade sauce for dipping.
