Method

Chicken Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Start by flattening the chicken breasts to an even thickness for better cooking.

  2. 2

    Bread the Chicken

Set up three bowls for dredging: one with flour mixed with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder; one with beaten egg mixed with milk; and one with breadcrumbs. Dip each chicken breast first in the flour, then in the egg mixture, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.

  3. 3

    Fry the Chicken

Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the breaded chicken breasts and fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Coleslaw Preparation

  1. 4

    Make the Coleslaw

In a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage and carrot. In a separate bowl, mix mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss until well combined. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

Hot Honey Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare the Hot Honey

In a small saucepan over low heat, combine honey and red pepper flakes. Stir until well mixed and warmed through. Remove from heat and set aside.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Assemble the Sandwich

Slice the round rolls in half. Place a piece of fried chicken on the bottom half, top with a generous portion of coleslaw, add sliced pickles, and drizzle hot honey over everything. Top with the other half of the roll and serve immediately.
