Burger Patties

Burger Assembly

Method

Preparing the Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix gently with your hands until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.

  3. 3

    Chill the Patties

Place the formed patties on a plate and refrigerate for 15-30 minutes to help them hold their shape during cooking.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 4

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  2. 5

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.

Assembling the Burgers

  1. 6

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 7

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve Immediately

Serve the burgers immediately while they're hot, with your favorite sides like fries or a salad.
