Method
Preparing the Salad
- 1
Cook the Ground Beef
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks, about 7-10 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
- 2
Prepare the Lettuce
While the beef is cooking, wash and chop the romaine lettuce into bite-sized pieces. Place in a large serving bowl.
- 3
Chop the Vegetables
Dice the pickles and red onion. Set aside for assembly.
- 4
Add Cheese and Sesame Seeds
Once the beef is cooked, let it cool slightly. Sprinkle the diced American cheese on top of the lettuce, followed by the cooked beef, chopped pickles, and red onion. Finally, sprinkle the sesame seeds on top.
Making the Dressing
- 5
Dress the Salad
Drizzle the Thousand Island dressing over the salad mixture. Toss gently to combine all ingredients evenly, ensuring the dressing coats everything.
