Burger Components

Thousand Island Dressing

Method

Preparing the Burger

  1. 1

    Make the Patties

In a bowl, combine ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and divide into three equal portions. Shape each portion into a patty.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked.

  3. 3

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and lightly toast them on the grill or in a toaster.

  4. 4

    Prep the Vegetables

Chop the lettuce, pickles, and onions into small pieces for easy assembly.

Making the Thousand Island Dressing

  1. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In a bowl, mix together mayonnaise, ketchup, sweet pickle relish, vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and salt until smooth.

  2. 6

    Chill the Dressing

Cover the dressing and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Assembling the Big Mac

  1. 7

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom bun, spread a layer of the Thousand Island dressing, add a patty, a layer of lettuce, pickles, and onions.

  2. 8

    Add the Middle Bun

Place the middle bun on top and repeat the layering process with another spread of dressing, a second patty, lettuce, pickles, and onions.

  3. 9

    Finish the Burger

Top with the final bun, sprinkle sesame seeds on the top bun, and serve immediately.
