Fish Preparation

Prep the Fish
Start by cleaning the white fish fillets under cold water. Pat them dry with paper towels.

Season the Fish
Sprinkle the fish fillets with salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Let them marinate for about 15 minutes.
Breading Mixture

Prepare the Breading
In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.

Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Bread the Fish
Dip each marinated fish fillet into the flour mixture, then into the egg wash, and back into the flour mixture until fully coated.

Fry the Fish
Carefully place the breaded fish fillets into the hot oil and fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Sandwich Assembly

Assemble the Sandwich
On the bottom half of each hamburger bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a piece of fried fish, a slice of tomato, and a generous dollop of tartar sauce.

Top with the other half of the bun, slice in half if desired, and serve immediately with your favorite sides.
