Burger Patty

Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef or chicken with teriyaki sauce, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about ¾ inch thick.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C) if using chicken, or 160°F (71°C) for beef.

Grilling the Pineapple

  1. 4

    Prepare the Pineapple

While the patties are cooking, lightly oil the grill grates or skillet.

  2. 5

    Grill the Pineapple

Place the fresh pineapple rings on the grill or skillet. Grill for about 2-3 minutes on each side until caramelized and heated through.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Add Cheese

During the last minute of cooking the patties, place a slice of Swiss cheese on top of each patty and cover to melt the cheese.

  2. 7

    Toast the Buns

Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.

  3. 8

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cheesy patty, grilled pineapple, and sliced tomatoes. Top with the other half of the bun.
