Begin by rimming your glass with salt. To do this, take a lime wedge and run it around the rim of the glass to moisten it. Then, dip the rim into a plate of salt until it is evenly coated. Set the glass aside.

In a cocktail shaker, combine the Patrón Silver Tequila, fresh lime juice, Cointreau (or Triple Sec), and simple syrup. Fill the shaker with ice and secure the lid.

Shake the cocktail shaker vigorously for about 15-20 seconds to chill the mixture and combine all the ingredients thoroughly.
