Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Salad Ingredients

Wash and dry the romaine lettuce and spinach, then chop them into bite-sized pieces. Slice the red onion thinly, dice the tomato, and slice the cucumber. Cut the broccoli into small florets and blanch them in boiling water for 1-2 minutes, then transfer them to an ice bath to stop the cooking process.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove from the skillet and let them drain on paper towels. Once cooled, crumble the bacon into small pieces.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Hard-Boiled Eggs

Place eggs in a pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then cover and remove from heat. Let sit for 12-14 minutes. Transfer the eggs to an ice bath to cool, then peel and chop.

  4. 4

    Optional Protein Preparation

If using, grill or cook the chicken, turkey, or salmon as per your preference. Slice them into bite-sized pieces.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Salad

In a large salad bowl, combine the chopped romaine, spinach, red onion, diced tomato, sliced cucumber, blanched broccoli, crumbled bacon, and mixed cheese. If using, add the grilled chicken, turkey, or salmon.

  2. 6

    Add Dressing

Drizzle the ranch dressing over the top of the salad and toss gently to combine all ingredients evenly.

  3. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Top the salad with chopped hard-boiled eggs and serve immediately. Enjoy your delicious Cobb Salad!
