Method

Preparation of Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Meat

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef or chicken with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined to avoid overworking the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cooking the Burgers

  1. 3

    Preheat Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. Optionally, lightly oil the grill grates or pan.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes until they reach an internal temperature of 75°C (165°F) for chicken or 70°C (160°F) for beef.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese and Bacon

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and top with 1 slice of hickory smoked bacon. Close the grill lid or cover the skillet to melt the cheese.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Toast the Buns

While the cheese melts, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 7

    Build the Burger

Spread ranch dressing on the bottom half of each bun. Place the cooked patty with cheese and bacon on top, followed by a generous drizzle of BBQ sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.
