Mojito Ingredients

Method

Mojito Preparation

1

Muddle the Mint and Sugar

In a sturdy glass, add the fresh mint leaves and granulated sugar. Using a muddler or the back of a spoon, gently press down on the mint leaves to release their oils and mix them with the sugar. Be careful not to tear the leaves too much, as you want to keep the mint's flavor intact.

2

Add Lime Juice

Pour in the freshly squeezed lime juice (1 oz) into the glass with the muddled mint and sugar. Stir gently to combine the ingredients, allowing the sugar to dissolve in the lime juice.

3

Mix in the Rum

Add the white rum (2 oz) to the glass. Stir the mixture again to ensure that all the ingredients are well combined.

4

Add Ice

Fill the glass with ice cubes (1 cup), leaving some space for the soda water. Make sure the ice is packed tightly, as this will help keep your mojito cold.

5

Top with Soda Water

Pour the soda water (4 oz) slowly over the ice until the glass is nearly full. Stir gently to mix the soda water with the rest of the cocktail without losing too much carbonation.

6

Garnish and Serve

Garnish your mojito with a lime wedge on the rim of the glass and a few extra mint leaves if desired. Serve immediately with a straw, and enjoy your refreshing mojito!
