Balsamic Reduction

Method

Preparing the Balsamic Reduction

1

Cook the Balsamic Vinegar

In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of balsamic vinegar and 2 tablespoons of honey. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.

2

Reduce the Mixture

Reduce heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 15-20 minutes until it thickens and coats the back of a spoon. Remove from heat and let it cool.

Preparing the Topping

3

Chop the Tomatoes

Dice the 4 medium tomatoes and place them in a mixing bowl.

4

Add Seasonings

Finely chop the 2 cloves of garlic and add them to the bowl along with 1 cup of fresh basil leaves, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of pepper. Mix well.

Preparing the Bread

5

Slice the Baguette

Slice the baguette into 1/2-inch thick rounds.

6

Grill the Bread

Brush both sides of the bread slices with 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Heat a grill pan or outdoor grill over medium-high heat and grill the bread for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden and crisp.

Assembling the Bruschetta

7

Top the Bread

Once the bread is grilled, remove it from the heat. Top each slice generously with the tomato mixture.

8

Drizzle with Balsamic Reduction

Drizzle the cooled balsamic reduction over the topped bruschetta before serving.
