Prepare Ingredients
Slice the pork spareribs into smaller pieces. Chop the onion, dice the tomatoes, and bruise the lemongrass by gently hitting it with a knife or mortar.

Cook the Pork
In a large pot, add the sliced pork spareribs and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Skim off any foam that forms on the surface.

Add Vegetables and Spices
Add the chopped onion, diced tomatoes, bruised lemongrass, and chilies to the pot. Simmer for about 30 minutes until the pork is tender.

Final Touches
Stir in the Thai basil leaves and lime juice. Adjust seasoning with salt or more lime juice if needed. Let it simmer for another 5 minutes.

Ladle the soup into bowls and serve hot, garnished with additional basil if desired.
