Wonton Filling and Preparation
Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Prepare the Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, chopped green onions, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- 2
Fill the Wontons
Take a wonton skin and place about 1 teaspoon of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges with water, fold the skin over to form a triangle, and press to seal. Ensure there are no air bubbles. Repeat with remaining wonton skins and filling.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking (about 350°F or 175°C).
- 4
Fry the Wontons
Carefully add wontons to the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, turning occasionally. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- 5
Serve
Serve hot with sweet chili sauce for dipping.
