Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Use your hands to mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  4. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).

  5. 5

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and close the grill lid or cover the skillet to melt the cheese.

Burger Assembly

  1. 6

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese. Add slices of fresh tomato and pickles on top.

  3. 8

    Add Condiments

Drizzle ketchup and mustard on the top half of the bun, then place it on top of the assembled burger.

  4. 9

    Serve

Serve immediately while hot with your choice of sides.
