Method

Cooking the Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes. This helps them cook evenly.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub each steak with olive oil, then season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  3. 3

    Grill the Steak

Preheat your grill to high heat. Grill the steaks for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is achieved. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature (130°F for medium-rare).

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Preparing the French Fries

  1. 5

    Cut the Potatoes

Wash the russet potatoes thoroughly, then cut them into thin strips (about 1/4 inch thick) for fries.

  2. 6

    Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This removes excess starch and helps to achieve crispy fries.

  3. 7

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 8

    Fry the Potatoes

Drain and dry the soaked potatoes with a towel. Carefully add them to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 4-5 minutes until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Season with salt while still hot.

Making the Garlic Butter

  1. 9

    Melt the Butter

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the stick of unsalted butter.

  2. 10

    Add Garlic and Parsley

Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the melted butter, stirring frequently for about 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped fresh parsley. Add salt to taste.
