Method
Steak
- 1
Prepare the Steak
Remove the ribeye steak from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps in even cooking.

Rest the Steak
Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board for about 5 minutes before slicing.
Fries
- 6
Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thick strips (about 1/4 inch wide) to form fries.
- 7
Soak the Potatoes
Soak the cut fries in cold water for at least 30 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch and results in crispier fries.
- 8
Dry the Potatoes
After soaking, drain the fries and pat them dry using a clean kitchen towel.
- 9
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 10
Fry the Potatoes
Carefully add the fries in batches to the hot oil. Fry for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove fries and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- 11
Season the Fries
While the fries are still hot, sprinkle them with salt to taste.
