Prepare the Ingredients
Gather all ingredients: rye bread, Thousand Island dressing, corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and unsalted butter.

Assemble the Sandwich
On two slices of rye bread, spread 1 tablespoon of Thousand Island dressing on each slice. Layer 4 ounces of corned beef on one slice, followed by 1/2 cup sauerkraut and 2 slices of Swiss cheese. Top with the second slice of bread, dressing side down.

Grill the Sandwich
In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter. Once melted, place the sandwich in the skillet. Grill for about 4-5 minutes until the bread is golden brown and the cheese starts to melt. Flip the sandwich, adding the remaining tablespoon of butter, and grill the other side for another 4-5 minutes.

Serve the Sandwich
Once both sides are grilled and the cheese has melted, remove the sandwich from the skillet. Let it cool for a minute, then slice in half and serve warm.
