Cheese Preparation

Method

Cheese Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cheese

Take the mozzarella cheese sticks and freeze them for at least 30 minutes. This will help them hold their shape while frying.

Breading Mixture

  1. 2

    Prepare the Breading

In three separate bowls, set up your breading station. In the first bowl, add the all-purpose flour and season with salt and pepper. In the second bowl, beat the eggs until mixed. In the third bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.

Breading the Cheese

  1. 3

    Bread the Mozzarella Sticks

Take each frozen mozzarella stick and coat it in the flour, shaking off the excess. Next, dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, roll it in the breadcrumb mixture to coat evenly. Repeat for all mozzarella sticks.

Frying

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large, deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. You want the oil to reach about 350°F (175°C). To test, drop a breadcrumb in; if it sizzles, the oil is ready.

  2. 5

    Fry the Mozzarella Sticks

Carefully add a few breaded mozzarella sticks to the hot oil, being cautious not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown, turning occasionally for even cooking. Remove them with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve

Arrange the fried mozzarella sticks on a serving platter and serve warm with marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
