Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Bacon

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side. Once done, transfer the cooked bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Tomato

While the bacon is cooking, wash the large tomato and slice it into even slices about 1/4 inch thick. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Lettuce

Wash the lettuce leaves under cold water and pat dry with a paper towel. Set aside.

  4. 4

    Toast the Bread

In the same skillet used for the bacon (or using a toaster), toast the Texas toast slices until golden brown on both sides.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Spread Mayonnaise

Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on one side of each slice of toasted Texas toast.

  2. 6

    Layer the Ingredients

On two slices of the toasted bread (mayonnaise side up), place two leaves of lettuce, followed by 4 slices of crispy bacon, and then top with tomato slices. Sprinkle salt and black pepper over the tomato slices.

  3. 7

    Complete the Sandwich

Top the sandwich with the remaining slices of Texas toast, mayonnaise side down. Press gently to secure.
