Method

For the Grilled Ribeye

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the ribeye steaks from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before grilling. This ensures even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub each steak with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and fresh rosemary on both sides.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat (around 450°F to 500°F).

  4. 4

    Grill the Steak

Place the steaks on the hot grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and grill for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare. Adjust time if you prefer your steak more or less done.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before serving. This helps the juices redistribute.

For the Garlic Mashed Potatoes

  1. 6

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the potatoes and cut them into evenly sized chunks. Place them in a large pot and cover with cold water.

  2. 7

    Cook the Potatoes

Add a pinch of salt to the water and bring it to a boil over medium-high heat. Cook the potatoes for about 15-20 minutes, or until they are fork-tender.

  3. 8

    Prepare the Garlic

While the potatoes are cooking, peel and crush the garlic cloves. Add them to a small pan with the butter and cook over low heat until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.

  4. 9

    Mash the Potatoes

Once the potatoes are cooked, drain them and return them to the pot. Add the garlic butter mixture, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and well combined.

  5. 10

    Serve

Serve the garlic mashed potatoes alongside the grilled ribeye steaks.
