Juicing the Fruits
Juice the blood orange and lemon to extract fresh juice, making sure to strain out any seeds or pulp.
Measuring Ingredients
Measure out 2 oz of Eastern Kille Rye Whiskey, 1 oz of blood orange juice, 0.5 oz of lemon juice, and 0.5 oz of orgeat syrup.
Mixing
Shaking the Cocktail
In a cocktail shaker, combine the Eastern Kille Rye Whiskey, blood orange juice, lemon juice, and orgeat syrup. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
Serving
Straining and Garnishing
Strain the mixture into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a slice of blood orange and a maraschino cherry.
