Burger Patties

Burger Assembly

Method

Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined, taking care not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness, adding a slice of aged white cheddar cheese on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Burger Assembly

  1. 4

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.

  2. 5

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked cheeseburger patty, a slice of tomato, pickle slices, and your desired amount of ketchup and mustard. Place the top half of the bun on top to complete the burger.

Sides

  1. 6

    Serve the Chips

Scoop the Great Lakes potato chips into a bowl and serve alongside the cheeseburgers.
