Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate (Optional)

If using the optional marinade, combine the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, honey, and fresh rosemary in a bowl. Whisk together and pour over the T-Bone steak. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight for more flavor.

  2. 2

    Bring to Room Temperature

Remove the T-Bone steak from the refrigerator (if marinated) and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps the steak cook more evenly.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or a cast-iron skillet over high heat for about 10 minutes. Make sure it’s very hot before adding the steak.

  2. 4

    Season the Steak

Rub the T-Bone steak with olive oil and season both sides generously with kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  3. 5

    Cook the T-Bone

Place the steak on the hot grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it, then flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, adjusting time for your preferred doneness.

  4. 6

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked to your desired doneness, remove the T-Bone from the heat and let it rest on a cutting board for at least 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Serving

  1. 7

    Slice and Serve

Slice the steak against the grain and serve immediately. Enjoy your perfectly cooked T-Bone steak!
