    Preheat the Oven

    Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

    Mix Dry Ingredients

    In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until well blended.

    In another bowl, cream the unsalted butter until fluffy. Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

    Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.

Baking

    Prepare the Pan

    Grease a baking pan (9x13 inch) with butter or cooking spray.

    Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.

    Prepare Topping

    In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon. If using, add the chopped nuts.

    Sprinkle the brown sugar mixture evenly over the batter in the pan.

    Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
