Shrimp Preparation
- 1
Season the Shrimp
In a bowl, combine the shrimp with salt, black pepper, and paprika. Toss to coat evenly and let it marinate for about 15 minutes.
Batter
- 2
Prepare the Batter
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, and baking powder. In a separate bowl, combine the beaten eggs and cold water. Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until a smooth batter forms.
Frying
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Fry the Shrimp
Dip each marinated shrimp into the batter, allowing excess to drip off. Carefully place the shrimp in the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the shrimp with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Cocktail Sauce
- 5
Mix the Sauce
In a small bowl, combine the ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well to combine and adjust seasoning to taste.
