Fried Pickles

Ranch Dipping Sauce

Method

Fried Pickles

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pickles

Drain the dill pickle slices and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  2. 2

    Make the Breading

In a shallow bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Egg Mixture

In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and buttermilk until well combined.

  4. 4

    Bread the Pickles

Dip each pickle slice first into the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in the flour-cornmeal mixture, ensuring they are fully coated.

  5. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a large, deep skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  6. 6

    Fry the Pickles

Carefully add the breaded pickles to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and drain on paper towels.

Ranch Dipping Sauce

  1. 7

    Mix the Sauce

In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, dried dill weed, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Stir until well mixed.

  2. 8

    Chill

Cover the ranch dipping sauce and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
