- 1
Prepare the Prime Rib
Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C). Season the prime rib roast with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub the seasoning all over the roast.
- 2
Roast the Prime Rib
Place the seasoned prime rib roast on a roasting pan. Roast in the preheated oven for about 1.5 to 2 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 20 minutes.
- 3
Slice the Prime Rib
Once rested, thinly slice the prime rib against the grain using a sharp knife.
- 4
Prepare the Rolls
Slice the French rolls in half and place them on a baking sheet. Layer the sliced prime rib on the bottom half of each roll and top with Monterey Jack cheese.
- 5
Melt the Cheese
Place the baking sheet in the oven for 5-7 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove from the oven.
