Preparation of Ingredients

  1. 1

    Prepare the Vegetables

Slice the mushrooms and onion thinly. Set aside.

Cooking the Steak

  1. 2

    Form the Ground Sirloin

In a bowl, season the ground sirloin with salt and black pepper. Mix well and form into a patty.

  2. 3

    Cook the Steak

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Once hot, add the patty and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until cooked to your desired doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest.

Cooking the Toppings

  1. 4

    Sauté the Onions and Mushrooms

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add the sliced onions and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they begin to soften. Then, add the sliced mushrooms and continue to sauté for another 5-7 minutes until the mushrooms are golden brown and the onions are translucent.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Top the Steak

Place the cooked patty on a serving plate and top with the sautéed onions and mushrooms. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
