Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Ingredients
Gather all the ingredients listed above. Rinse the basil leaves under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel.
Mixing the Drink
- 2
Muddle the Basil
In a cocktail shaker, add the fresh basil leaves and gently muddle them using a muddler or the back of a spoon. This should release the essential oils and flavors of the basil.
- 3
Add Remaining Ingredients
Pour in the Casamigos Blanco tequila, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup into the shaker with the muddled basil.
- 4
Add Ice
Fill the shaker with ice cubes, enough to chill the mixture.
- 5
Shake Well
Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds, or until the shaker is frosty.
Serving
- 6
Strain and Serve
Strain the mixture into a chilled cocktail glass or coupe. Make sure to leave behind the basil leaves and ice.
- 7
Garnish
Garnish with a sprig of basil and a lime wheel on the rim of the glass.
