Preparation
- 1
Preparing the Seafood
Rinse the shrimp and mussels under cold water, ensuring they are clean. Pat them dry with paper towels.
- 2
Chopping the Vegetables
Dice the red bell pepper, chop the onion, and celery, and halve the cherry tomatoes. Mince the garlic and set aside.
Cooking
- 3
Sauté the Vegetables
In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, celery, and red bell pepper. Sauté until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
- 4
Add Garlic and Spices
Add the minced garlic, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper to the pot. Stir for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- 5
Deglaze with Wine
Pour in the white wine and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes, scraping up any bits from the bottom of the pot.
- 6
Add Stock and Seafood
Pour in the fish stock and bring it to a simmer. Add the shrimp and mussels to the pot and cover. Cook until the mussels open and shrimp are pink, about 5-7 minutes.
- 7
Finish with Fish and Tomatoes
Add the fish fillets and cherry tomatoes to the pot. Cover and cook for an additional 5 minutes, until the fish is cooked through.
- 8
Add Lemon Juice and Parsley
Remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice and chopped parsley. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
