Hibiscus Tea Preparation

Prepare the Hibiscus
In a medium-sized pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.

Add Hibiscus Flowers
Once the water is boiling, add 1 cup of dried hibiscus flowers to the pot.

Simmer
Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for about 15 minutes.

Strain the Tea
After simmering, remove the pot from heat and strain the tea through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher to remove the hibiscus flowers.

Sweeten the Tea
While the tea is still warm, stir in 0.5 cup of sugar until fully dissolved.

Add Lime Juice
Once the sugar is dissolved, add 2 tablespoons of lime juice and stir well.

Chill the Tea
Let the tea cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until cold.

Serve
Serve the chilled hibiscus tea over ice with fresh mint leaves if desired.
