Hummus

Wrap Ingredients

Method

Hummus Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare Chickpeas

Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas under cold water to remove excess sodium.

  2. 2

    Blend Ingredients

In a food processor, combine the drained chickpeas, tahini, garlic cloves, lemon juice, olive oil, ground cumin, salt, and water.

  3. 3

    Process Until Smooth

Blend the mixture until it is smooth and creamy. If the hummus is too thick, add more water, one tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.

  4. 4

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the hummus and adjust the seasoning as needed, adding more salt or lemon juice to suit your preference.

Wrap Assembly

  1. 5

    Prepare Vegetables

Wash and slice the lettuce, tomato, and cucumber. The tomato and cucumber can be diced or sliced, depending on your preference.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Wrap

Take a piece of pita bread and spread a generous amount of hummus in the center.

  3. 7

    Add Vegetables

Layer the sliced lettuce, diced tomato, and cucumber on top of the hummus.

  4. 8

    Drizzle with Olive Oil

Drizzle a little olive oil over the vegetables for added flavor.

  5. 9

    Wrap and Serve

Fold the pita in half to enclose the filling and serve immediately, or wrap it in foil for later.
