Directions
- 1
Prepare the Coffee
Brew 1 cup of strong espresso coffee. Allow it to cool slightly, then stir in the coffee liqueur if using. Set aside.
- 2
Make the Mascarpone Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine 8 oz of mascarpone cheese, 1 cup of granulated sugar, 1 tsp of vanilla extract, and mix until smooth and creamy.
- 3
Whip the Heavy Cream
In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.
- 4
Soak the Ladyfingers
Dip each ladyfinger into the brewed coffee for about 1-2 seconds, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Lay them in a single layer in a 9x13 inch dish.
- 5
Assemble the Tiramisu
Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the soaked ladyfingers in the dish. Repeat the process with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and top with the remaining mascarpone mixture.
- 6
Chill the Dessert
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
- 7
Serve
Before serving, dust the top with 2 tbs of cocoa powder. Cut into squares and enjoy your classic tiramisu!
