Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cucumber

Grate the cucumber using a box grater or a food processor. Once grated, place it in a clean kitchen towel or cheesecloth and squeeze out excess moisture to avoid a watery sauce.

  2. 2

    Mince the Garlic

Peel and finely mince the garlic cloves. If you prefer a more intense garlic flavor, you can crush them with the side of a knife before mincing.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium mixing bowl, add the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, dill, salt, and black pepper.

  4. 4

    Mix Well

Using a whisk or spatula, stir all the ingredients together until well combined. Make sure the cucumber and garlic are evenly distributed throughout the yogurt.

  5. 5

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the tzatziki sauce and adjust the seasoning as necessary. You can add more lemon juice, salt, or pepper according to your preference.

  6. 6

    Chill and Serve

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the tzatziki for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. Serve chilled with pita bread, grilled meats, or fresh vegetables.
