Preparation of Filling

Cook the Rice
In a medium saucepan, heat 1 cup of water or vegetable broth to a boil. Add 1 cup of long-grain rice, cover, and reduce heat to low. Cook for 18-20 minutes until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed. Remove from heat and let cool.

Prepare the Filling
In a large bowl, combine the cooked rice, 1 tbs of chopped fresh dill, 1 tbs of chopped fresh parsley, 1 finely chopped medium onion, 2 tbs of olive oil, 1 tsp of salt, 1 tsp of black pepper, and 2 tbs of lemon juice. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated.
Stuffing the Grape Leaves

Prepare Grape Leaves
Carefully rinse the canned grape leaves under cold water to remove excess brine. Lay them flat on a clean surface.

Stuff the Leaves
Take one grape leaf, vein side up, and place about 1-2 tablespoons of the filling at the base of the leaf. Fold the sides over the filling, then roll from the base to the tip, forming a tight cylinder. Repeat with remaining leaves and filling.
