Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Gather Ingredients

Collect all the ingredients listed for the tea, including fresh lemon verbena leaves, water, honey, lemon juice, and mint leaves, if using.

  2. 2

    Rinse Lemon Verbena

Rinse the fresh lemon verbena leaves under cold water to remove any dirt or impurities.

Brewing the Tea

  1. 3

    Boil Water

In a medium-sized pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over high heat.

  2. 4

    Add Lemon Verbena

Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat and add the rinsed lemon verbena leaves to the pot.

  3. 5

    Steep the Tea

Cover the pot with a lid and let the lemon verbena leaves steep in the hot water for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to develop.

Finishing Touches

  1. 6

    Strain the Tea

After steeping, use a fine mesh strainer to remove the lemon verbena leaves from the liquid, pouring the tea into a teapot or directly into cups.

  2. 7

    Add Optional Ingredients

If desired, add honey, lemon juice, and mint leaves to the tea for extra flavor. Stir gently to combine.

  3. 8

    Serve

Serve the tea hot, or let it cool and serve over ice for a refreshing iced tea option.
