For the Sandwich Assembly

Method

Marinating the Chicken

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a large bowl, combine yogurt, curry powder, minced garlic, grated ginger, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until smooth.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Chicken

Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces and add them to the marinade. Toss until all the chicken pieces are well coated. Cover the bowl and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour (or overnight for best flavor).

Grilling the Chicken

  1. 3

    Prepare the Skewers

If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning on the grill.

  2. 4

    Skewer the Chicken

Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto the skewers. Leave a little space between pieces for even cooking.

  3. 5

    Grill the Skewers

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is fully cooked and has nice grill marks.

Assembling the Sandwich

  1. 6

    Prepare the Pita

Warm the pita bread on the grill for 1-2 minutes until soft and pliable.

  2. 7

    Build the Sandwich

Spread a generous amount of tzatziki sauce inside each pita. Fill with shredded lettuce, sliced tomato, and cucumber. Add the grilled chicken kebabs on top.

  3. 8

    Serve

Wrap the pita around the fillings and serve immediately while warm.
